"Sit With Us", a new app created by 16-year-old Natalie Hampton, makes finding friends in the school cafeteria a piece of cake.

At her old school, Natalie was completely ostracized by all of her classmates during 7th grade and had to eat lunch alone every day, so she decided to create an app that helps lonely students find lunch buddies.

"Sit With Us", which was launched on September 9th, allows students to designate themselves as “ambassadors,” which sends an invite to other users that they are looking for others to join them for lunch.

Natalie, now a junior from Sherman Oaks, California, is attending a different school and is thriving socially. Yet, the memory of being bullied and having to sit alone during lunch still haunts her, especially since she knows her experience isn’t an isolated one.

The app invites are via your phone and are private, so this way, no one else has to know. Natalie adds ... "and you know that you’re not going to be rejected once you get to the table.”
