We all saw it when it took the internet and media by storm; Trump bashing a super-imposed CNN logo in what was originally a WWE 'Smackdown' with Vince McMahon. We all saw it but I doubt any of us were surprised.
It wasn't the first blow thrown in Trump's battle against the media.
Instead, discrediting any and all media outlets that would dare criticize him became a major theme of the Trump campaign. Never before have we seen a President (or presidential candidate, for that matter) openly acknowledge and attack journalists and entertainers for their coverage, negative or not.
And there's a damn good reason for it, too. An NPR/“PBS NewsHour”/Marist poll has found that 90 percent of Republicans say they have little or no trust in the media, and that confidence among Trump voters is even less.
So how do you find common ground with the majority of your potential voters? Apparently, you bash the media.
